I know Florida peeps would never disrespect their AC unit like I just did. When we used the AC for the first time last week, we noticed that the house wasn't cooling very well. I looked out the window to see that I had left the winter cover on the A/C unit (WHOOPS!). I thought I cooked the old girl! I had the service guy out this morning...It turns out I was saved by a capacitor that buned out. It cost me a few bucks - but I was expecting much worse. Next year I'll pull the fuse when I cover it! (A fine tip from my AC Repair man!) Stay cool cats!

James, James, James! You aren't ready to become a Floridian yet. That's why our A/C unit is on the roof, so we can't mess it up.
so much for the "it was an experiment" angle you took with us kids!
Glad it was no big deal. :-)
I thought my kids would buy into the "experiment thing" . But I knew my sisters would too wise for that!
Experiment eh? I think I did hear that word back in winter of 1968 that night before school you put your cereal in a bowl, put foil on top of the cereal and poured your milk on top. The you covered it with plastic wrap (I'm not sure about the plastic wrap) You placed it on your cold window sill with a spoon next to it and went to sleep. The next morning you poked a hole in the foil with you spoon and took off the foil to enjoy a bowl of cereal in bed. It was an "EXPERIMENT"!! AND it worked! You are still one crazy kid!!
