I've been thinking we needed to get a teardrop for our Element, but as I was reading a thread about someone building their own teardrop, I came across this picture.  I think we need one of these for our tandem!  It would have to be a double, of course.  Not sure of the design because  a double would take a lot of space on the road - maybe bunks?  What do you think Jim?

Yes, go for bunks. If you could make a catamaran in the garage in Livonia, I'm sure you could handle this project. Aluminum would be nice and light. If it were me I would use papier mache, but it might swell up in the rain, so don't try that. Make a prototype, put your email address on the side, go on the road, and I'm sure you will have lots of orders.

I love this idea! I'm going to go to the funeral home and see if they have a old casket laying around...That'd be a great start!

Did you see the guy was from Menominee, Mich? Those yoopers are sure clever!. I like that he just towed it with a regular old bike!

Better get two caskets, remember, bunks. Yes, that Yooper was a clever guy. No gears for him or you either.

This is the teardrop I've been looking at. (Not the top end model tho.)

Shawn (too lazy to log Jim off and log myself on)

I'm sorry, Shawn. My reading skills are the pitts. I thought it was Jim's post. Hope you didn't mind me butting in with my opinion before my brother could respond. Anyway, it sure was nice having a breakfast blog with both of you this morning (oatmeal, walnuts, yogurt, honey).

No problem Sally! I'm glad you contributed! Jim and I need ideas!

Your breakfast sounds yummy! We had bacon & eggs. Lunch is homemade chicken noodle soup. We've got to finish that up and then work on the turkey soup from last week's bird!

What a great day that was when you and dad launched the catamaran on Lake Tyrone. I wonder if that's when you first had a fettish for the word "cat"? I remember some good laughs watching you two launch.. how long did it take you to make that? (i just read the rest of the blogs and now I see it is Shawn)so. . . .anyone who can crochet like you could certainly make the teardrop bunk! Now get that needle (or hook) out!
